Brief
To create a narrative reel for ‘Adhoore Humsafar’, a song about going through a breakup with someone who one thought was their end-game. When one decides to build a life with someone but it doesn’t work out that way.
Our Take
Once again, working only with the resources available to us, we opted for a verite-style reel of a couple in their lived-in habitat, inspired by the naturalistic, slice-of-life style of the early French New Wave and Wong Kar Wai. We filmed in singer-songwriter Meera’s own apartment, casting her and Sagar as the two characters in love. But instead of approaching the narrative literally and plainly, we’ve taken some creative liberties to highlight the passing of time and the personal grief one feels from the loss of a close relationship. It doesn’t reveal the full story, but only a ‘then and now’ scenario, as is often the lens through which we tend to view our relationships in the present.
