Brief
To create a conceptual reel for ‘Bemausam Toofan’, a song about growing apart in a relationship, instead of growing together. It can be a sad realisation and a bitter truth to digest.
Our Take
Since we did not want to approach this video as a typical narrative piece, we let the lyrics guide us through this one. What if the lyrics served as the inner monologue for things one wants to say to our partners, but doesn’t. To create a sense of melancholy and impending doom, in less than a minute, is no walk-in-the-park. But lucky for us, we took a walk in an actual park and came upon an apt location to illustrate the visual dichotomy of physical proximity and inner turmoil, both at the same time. We’ve attempted to deploy major details in the wardrobe as well, placing flowers in our performers’ ears (the ones away from the other), as a nod to each’s beautiful individuality despite both of them camouflaging to appear as one unit, being dressed in similar clothes and colours.
