Lockdown-era, vibrant jazz-pop track about fighting those inner creative battles in all of us.
Our Take
Conceptualised and shot during the onset of Lockdown 2.0, we started concept development by fleshing out a loose outline instead of a hard and fast one. Location and resources were consistently TBD until time came to get the ball rolling. And then everything happened quickly. Vrnda Dhar, the singer, has a ‘musical-theater’ quality in her voice - it’s very expressive, and so is she. With only a four hour window to shoot the entire video at her home in Delhi, we quickly leaned towards a lip-sync approach, highlighting her performative qualities. Vanity shots were never in mind, just a clear intention to capture a mood, a longing to be over the moon, yet feeling stuck and barely managing to preserve one’s sanity in the creative journey. The physical confines of our location ended up becoming a character in itself, proving to be fertile ground for this idea.
