Brief
A meditative and powerful rap track about making peace with the highs and lows of our lives, featuring some young MC’s from Borivali, Mumbai.
Our Take
Having been around the rap scene in North Mumbai and seen cyphers in action, we’ve come across an abundance of young, modern-day wordsmiths, turning their lives into bars and rhymes that don’t mince words and are self-deprecatingly aware. We instantly connected with these three young rappers brimming with laughter and confidence, were presented with one of their most meditative tracks and hit the ground running. We noticed that these boys were barely adults, but like the rest of us, trying to adult hard. Their inner child was still very unveiled, still out on display. So, drawing from the idea of trying to be accomplished men while still keeping alive the inner boy within them, we came up with an idea to pair documentary-like shots of their everyday surroundings with slightly stylized elements, such as clothing them in colored capes as well as formal blazers and trousers.
