Brief
An ode to joy, cheeky love and Mango season.
Our take
Working in microbudgets has its challenges, but it gives one freedom to explore. This video was always meant to be intimate, fun and a little mischievous. Starting with access to an apartment, and inspired by the sequence of Faye Wong cleaning an apartment in ‘Chung King Express’, we reverse-engineered our way into an idea that breathed life into personal, intimate spaces while capturing the essence of an intimate afternoon spent with a partner, featuring mangoes. A dance was loosely choreographed by our lead protagonists, allowing for an improvisational, spontaneous quality that is often missing in typical ‘dance’ music videos. The camera flies around with them like an inner child, instead of staying clean and poised, making this one a lovely ode to mango season and cheeky behaviour.
