“PANODRAMA”
Artist(s) : Chirag Todi, Warren Mendonsa & Shreya Bhattacharya
Dir. Tushar Kejriwal
Producer : Tushar Kejriwal
Brief
A jazzy ode to nostalgia and refined artistic tastes, told through objects and spaces.
Our Take
There is a live quality to this song, which is a major component of Jazz and Funk. But the lyrics are cheeky and self-aware. They evoke a longing for a time when art held a certain gravitas, while also staying self-aware that one needs to ease off the nostaglia as well. This core idea made for a ripe scenario. Once again, we reverse-engineered the concept from the resources at hand, stumbling upon a home that was full of nostalgic collections of so-called ‘tasteful’ art, books and objects. It was like a mini-museum of Things. Therefore, the home served as a backbone to our entire approach - casting the seemingly inanimate space and its objects as the leading narrative force and the human elements as supporting cast to it. This video became a playground essentially, allowing us to play and communicate the core idea within the artistic realms of the house and its natural qualities (such as sunlight and wind), instead of forcing fabrication, much like the genre of this piece of music itself.
